Research Advances and Prospects on Molecular Biology of Rice Dwarf Disease

摘要: 水稻矮缩病(rice dwarf disease)的病原物为水稻矮缩病毒(Rice dwarf virus,RDV)。RDV由介体黑尾叶蝉以持久增殖型方式传播。该病害1883年在日本被发现,现主要流行于日本、朝鲜、中国等东南亚水稻产区,给水稻等粮食安全带来巨大威胁。本文就该病害的流行分布、病原和介体传毒特性、病毒编码的基因功能、病毒与寄主或介体互作、研究展望等方面作简要的介绍。

Abstract: The dwarf disease on rice plants caused by the virus, RDV, was first reported in Japan in 1883. It is now prevalent in southeast Asia, such as Japan, Korea and China. The virus is transmitted through the green rice leafhoppers (Nephotettix cincticeps) with a persistent propagation of manner that can result in a wide spread infestation threatening the rice production and food security in the area. This article reviews the epidemiology of the disease, characterizations of viral pathogeny and transmission by insect vectors, proteins functions encoded by RDV, interactions between virus-plant or host-insect, and prospects for future studies and advancements.
